Nancy says, "It is important to share my oil pastels and the process of creation in the community and allow the art work to communicate and poetically resonate in the rich tones and colors of feelings. I work with women and children in the NYC shelters and organize workshops in the communities to share this creative experience. The process of creation is a journey that takes us beyond our thoughts and opens up a new experience. My goal is to create beauty that inspires us to see the truth of our own being and expose what you are and what you could become." "My oil pastels draw from events and feelings…pure feelings. They are poetic visual metaphors about love and death, imprisonment and flight, or relationships… The works become vehicles that transform a state of suffering into beauty through its symbolism, structured elements and bold color. My work communicates emotions that are universal." |
